What does cab AC and HVAC repair include?

The full system: AC compressors, condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, receiver-driers, blower motors and resistors, blend and mode doors, heater cores, control heads, and refrigerant leak detection and recharge. If the system holds a charge but won't blow cold, or blows cold on the highway and warm in town, we find out why.

We service cab HVAC on Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Western Star, Volvo, Mack, and International — sleepers included. Bunk AC that quits during a hot layover in a Twin Falls lot is not a small problem when you're trying to sleep before a 4 AM load.

How long does AC repair take?

A leak check and recharge is usually done the same day. Compressors and condensers are typically same-day too, parts allowing. Evaporators and heater cores buried in the dash take longer, and we'll say so up front. You get a diagnosis, then a quote, and the price we quote is the price you pay — nobody comes back to a bigger bill than they agreed to.

Is a broken heater or defroster really urgent?

In a Magic Valley winter, yes. A defroster that can't keep the windshield clear on a black-ice morning on I-84 is a safety defect, plain and simple. And a dead heater in a sleeper during a cold snap can end a trip fast. We treat winter heat and defrost calls with the same urgency as summer AC calls — and with bays open every day until 10 PM, you don't have to lose a week of driving to fix it.

Hot summers, long idles, hard-working AC

Harvest season is rough on cab AC. Hay, grain, and produce hauls mean long hot days, dusty yards that plug condensers, and idle time at scales and processors where there's no ram air helping the system. If your AC is weak in June, it will be dead in August. Get the system checked before the heat — a clean condenser, a full charge, and a healthy compressor clutch are what keep a Magic Valley summer bearable behind the wheel.

Driver questions

My AC blows cold sometimes, then warm. What's going on?

Common causes are a low refrigerant charge cycling the compressor off, a slipping compressor clutch, or a sticking blend door. All three show different clues under testing, which is why we diagnose before we quote — so you pay to fix the actual fault.

Do you fix sleeper and bunk AC units?

Yes. We service the HVAC in the sleeper as well as the dash system on all the major truck brands we work on. If the bunk won't cool or heat, bring it in — or call and we'll tell you whether it's worth a mobile look.

Can you fix my heater and defroster before winter?

Yes, and please don't wait for the first ice storm. Heater cores, blend doors, and blower motors are all repairable now, at a quoted price, on your schedule — instead of during a January cold snap when every driver on I-84 needs the same thing.
