What does injector service include?

We start with a cylinder cutout test using dealer-level software, which kills one cylinder at a time to find the weak hole. Then we confirm it — a dead cylinder can also be a valve or compression problem, and swapping an injector into a mechanical failure wastes your money.

If an injector is bad, we replace it along with the seals, and on engines that need it, the injector cup underneath. Leaking cups let fuel into the coolant or coolant into the cylinder, so they get checked every time. After the swap, we program the new injector's trim codes into the ECM so it fuels right from the first mile.

How long does injector replacement take?

One injector on most Cummins, Detroit, PACCAR, or CAT engines is usually a same-day job — often a few hours. A full set, or a job with cup work, takes longer. We give you the timeline with the quote, and being open 7 AM to 10 PM every day means we can usually start sooner than you'd expect.

What will it cost?

You get a firm quote after the diagnosis, before any parts come off. The price we quote is the price you pay. And we don't sell six injectors when one failed — if the other five test healthy, they stay in the engine.

Injector trouble on the I-84 corridor

Long idle time in winter cold snaps and hard summer pulls through harvest season are both tough on injectors. If your truck starts hard on cold Magic Valley mornings, smokes white until it warms up, or shudders at idle in the fuel line at the truck stop, those are classic injector complaints. We're minutes off I-84 in Jerome — get it tested before it strands a load.

Driver questions

What are the signs of a bad injector?

Rough idle, a miss under load, white or gray smoke, hard starts, fuel in the oil, and fuel mileage dropping. A cylinder cutout test pins down which injector it is.

Do I have to replace all the injectors at once?

No. If one failed and the rest test good, we replace one. If several are weak or the engine has high miles, we'll show you the numbers and let you decide.

Can you do injector work on the road?

Some injector jobs can be done mobile at I-84 exits between Bliss and Declo; bigger jobs belong in the bay. Call (208) 696-9888, tell us what the truck is doing, and we'll tell you which one it is. Flat call-out fee stated before we roll.
